Curtains are implanted in our consciousness, limiting our ability to perceive the true reality. As a result, situations that initially appear hopeless can be blessings in disguise.
Today, don't let your judgments blind you to the golden opportunities.
Nothing kills passion like routine. You can be living the perfect life and still lose your juice if you are not learning new things and seeing different angels and angles all the time.
Today, stand on your head. Eat a different flavor donut. Brush your teeth with your opposite hand. Get into the mindset of doing the little things different, and the big things will emerge.
Take away all your possessions. Take away all your education. Take away all your money. What's left is all you are. Today, think about that. Every hour. What are you all about?
In the olden days, if you had a question, you wrote it down and gave it to your local spiritual leader. He answered the question and the paper was returned to you — with your 'prescription'; sometimes a spiritual solution, sometimes a physical assignment to transform the situation.
The great kabbalists like the Baal Shem Tov never looked at a piece of paper. He could look at a paper and tell you everything about the person who wrote it down. He saw into their soul, into the root of their problem, and didn't diagnose and treat that problem. He treated the person.
In the medical world, symptoms present themselves, are diagnosed and treated. In homeopathy, there's often a deeper investigation, but the concept is similar.
In our own lives, and in the lives of those around us, we cannot treat people like pieces of paper and we cannot simply address questions.
We cannot treat the question. We must treat the person.
My mother and teacher, Karen Berg, often says that when a person comes to you with a problem, you cannot help them if you are coming from your perspective. You have to erase yourself — put yourself completely in their shoes and feel where they are coming from, regardless of where you are coming from.
If someone calls you and tells you what they are going through, you cannot listen to the issue. You must listen to the person. If someone says, "I'm angry", the simplest thing is to tell them to meditate or pray on it and let it go. But the question we must ask is, "Why are you angry, and who at?" The line of questions continues and we get to the real problem.
Unfortunately, the way that the world is right now, where there's a problem we look for a bandage. As long as we can stop the bleeding for now, we're good with that.
We need to realize the nature of the problem and make sure the solutions work long term.
If a person has a kidney problem and you give them Vicodin without knowing that they have addictive tendencies, you aren't solving any problems — you're adding to them.
We have to look at the big picture and make the effort to go at the solutions. That's what we are here to do — for ourselves and the world. This week, think about — perhaps even face — the people you're treating as problems, the problems you're not dealing with, and the solutions you know might take more effort, but will create a lasting change.
All the best,
Yehuda
72 Name of the Week I gather the ability to bring forth the powers of observation to see the truth . . . and the courage to handle it!
Most of the time our happiness is reactive behavior. We let things or people be the cause of our happiness. True happiness has no reason. It's a choice.
Today, find one reason for joy. And focus on that for the day.
There is tremendous energy in our vows. When we make a promise and don't keep it, we create black holes, voids, and no wonder we are uncomfortable or dissatisfied.
Today, show up when you say you are going to show up.
Though we may find it difficult to accept, our hurtful words towards or about others has a cumulative negative effect in the spiritual realm, which in turn generates personal and global suffering. To eradicate the darkness and chaos from human existence, we must extinguish the parallel force in the upper worlds through mindful speech.
Today, if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all.
When you bring peace to yourself, you can bring it to others.
Today, carve out some down time. Retreat into yourself through meditation, deep breathing or whatever gets you into the zone. Allow yourself to reframe a troubling situation, and see where the opportunity is hidden within. Putting life in perspective releases the stress.
Antidote to depression? Realizing there is always someone worse off than you.
Today, think about the difficulties other people go through. Know that by simply feeling a bit better about your life, you are, due to the interconnectedness of life, making it easier for them to rise up and find their fulfillment.
How do you have appreciation if you don't have appreciation? One way is to lose what you have. Another is to know you are not appreciating. Being aware brings it back.
Look around today. What are the physical things you have that you appreciate — including your body? Who are the people you love? What are the gifts God has given you? Where are the miracles you worked so hard to achieve?
If this email finds you in darkness, then think of a time when it was even darker. There is always something for which to be grateful.
As you know, I don't use this forum as a way to market and sell, only to inspire. But I decided that this week, I want to share with you some of my process in writing "The Power to Change Everything." I grew so much in the process of writing this book, and I hope my sharing inspires you as well.
I realized 3 things writing this book that I did not see before:
The time has come to spread a message for social change rather than of self help. I realized that global perspective is the most powerful catalyst for personal change. When we see how messed up our world is, we can either be overwhelmed by the helplessness of the situation, or we can be empowered by the idea that it's up to me, that my decisions matter, so I must start changing now.
I needed to take a risk: although my lineage is Kabbalah and the great wealth of knowledge and perspective I have comes from Kabbalah, my personal message is more universal. So you will find this book is more about consciousness than Kabbalah, and asks nothing more of the reader than to wake up and think. No commitment necessary.
Because I am so passionate about this message, I am travelling the world to talk to you about these issues. Within the first six months of its release, the book will be translated into 5 languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and Hebrew. And in the coming year I will be going all over the world to meet you. I have never done that before. And I am using the gift of the new surge in social media as a support to start the ball rolling. I am afraid and excited!
I would like to end with this little factoid. If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, he will jump out. But if you put him in a pot of cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he will just stay there until...
The water is coming to a boil, my friends. We need to wake up and do something. And I'm not just talking about global warming. This is my wake up call. I hope you join me.

72 Name of the Week This Name raises my awareness of the long-term effects of all my actions. I gain the ability to see the spiritual challenges in every moment, before they become the foundations of chaos and crises.
Beneath the surface there is a balance and harmony that fills all creation — especially in the hardships, challenges, and tests that you must face throughout life.
Today, arouse your strength to pass all those tests, to rise to a higher level of being, and to gain the joy and fulfillment that accompany true spiritual transformation.
Change is terrifying. There is no way around that. When it's real, it hurts - and it's scary as hell. You can't fake it. But when you come through the other side, what originally felt bad gives way to a stronger, calmer, clearer you.
Today, take some quiet time and allow yourself to go inside. Open your heart, face your fears. Let them come up. Feel them. It will loosen their grip, giving you wiggle room to face your fantasies.
In his latest book The Power to Change Everything, Yehuda Berg simplifies and makes accessible the idea that our consciousness can create a better, more perfected reality. He examines the problematic areas of politics, religion, environment, and economy, and demonstrates how everything, no matter how bleak, can be transformed by shifting out minds. This is a universal message that can be understood by everyone.
As someone who has benefited from Yehuda’s inspirational words before, we would appreciate if you’d help us make The Power to Change Everything an international bestseller!
