We're obsessed with making sure that people don't judge us, but it's an exercise in futility. People will have their opinions no matter what, and we have to allow them to do just that.
Today, let down your guard. Allow the judgments to flow. One of two things are happening: either there is some truth for you to hear; or they are talking about themselves.
Usually it's both.
